The semester started three weeks ago, and of course, I skipped the first week (a practice that is now becoming commonplace). Classes are great so far. In case you were wondering, I'm taking Organic Chem II, Mammalian Physiology, Fluid and Thermal Physics, Ethnomusicology, and Ballroom Dance (!). I like all of the courses, especially ballroom dance, where we are currently learning how to Rumba!
In other news, efforts to officialize our dance club (to be called "PSU Natya") are well underway. It's going to be very exciting, though perhaps a bit stressful in the beginning.
The Carnatic vocal lessons with Neela Aunty are going very well, though I do have a sore throat right now. We have almost finished two songs already. That reminds me! When I was in Chennai to pick up a Shruthi Box from the music store, I also bought a bamboo flute! I'm learning how to play it now. It took me a few days just to learn how to blow a clear note, and now I'm working on scales. It really helps to have some woodwind experience. If anybody knows how to play the carnatic flute, your help would be appreciated.
I have almost finished devouring the package of sweets and savouries brought back from India, so if you want some, now is your chance to get them.
I'm going to stop writing write here so I can continue blogging about India and then perhaps try to study for the two exams coming up this week. Once again, apologies for the utter failure in blogging, and thanks for reading.
